Happy Thanksgiving!
Hello All,
It feels very funny to get up this morning and not head into a hospital to make rounds! I have been doing that for well over 25 years, so this has been a titch difficult. It has also been my tradition to send a quick holiday note, and especially at Thanksgiving – so I am very lucky that I still get an opportunity to do that! I have so much to be thankful for!
Marcel Proust, a French novelist, said “Let us be grateful to the people who make us happy. They are the gardeners who make our souls blossom.” I am so grateful for and to all of you – my family and friends. You bring joy to my life, enriching it in every way possible. You keep me grounded while also letting me soar. You truly do feed my soul.
A very special thank you to everyone who is working today to keep our patients and communities safe. Our wonderful hospitals, free-standing Emergency Departments and post acute care providers never close – so our staff members are there caring for other families’ most treasured gifts . Our tremendous partners – the Police, Fire and Rescue, Emergency Services and all Branches of our Military – stay vigilant and ready at all times. We are safe and free because of each and every one of you! There are not enough words to convey the thanks you deserve!
I hope this Thanksgiving fills your soul with laughter and love. I hope you take a few minutes to reflect on how wonderful you are and the difference you make in the lives of others. Thank you for being you!
