Hello All,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This continues to be a scary time for all of us. Every one of us is doing our part, whether you are on the frontlines battling the virus or you are staying home so you are one less person for the healthcare team to battle for! I know each of us is doing this out of love. And as psychologist Lynne Namke says: “Love in action is service to the world.” <\/em>Thank you for your love and service!<\/p>\n\n\n\n At this time we all need to find some peace. I can hear the stress in people\u2019s voices, read it in the lines of text messages and emails. The great philosopher Lady Gaga (What? you know I love her!) has said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Peace – It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n For all of you in these critical front line services who are working incredibly hard right now, take a deep breath and know in your heart how valuable your work is. Know that your skill is touching other lives and making a difference. Know that you are the light and hope for another. Know that you are valued. Know that this world will heal because of you and your efforts. Know that we are with you in spirit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n For those at home, know that you are keeping other people safe by staying in. Know that your thoughts and prayers are working, and are being felt worldwide. Keep in touch with the people who are important to you – they need your strength and support. A call – a surprise card (thank goodness cards are sold in grocery stores now!) – a gift certificate to a favorite restaurant for use at some future date – a text – just reach out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I am hopeful that this blog helps in some small way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So let me end with something funny – laughter is good for the soul! Bob has a new appreciation for my love for \u201cbig box stores\u201d! He always wondered why I had this need to buy bulk toilet paper and paper towels…..especially for just the two of us. So at the moment we are good. I think I may actually have won a few wife brownie points! (And goodness knows I need them.) However, we have already begun what I affectionately now refer to as the scavenger hunt for these essential items! Today I managed to find some paper towels for my little mom. You would have thought I won the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes! <\/p>\n\n\n\n Stay safe. Stay healthy. Be calm in your heart.
